Classic Yogurt cake topped up with icing sugar

A classic yogurt cake that will full your tummy and instead of counting carbs you can enjoy all the light mixing flavours.   • 2 cups yogurt
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 4 cups flour
  • 1 cup sunflower oil
  • 4 eggs
  • lemon pill
  • One dry yeast
  • icing sugar for garnish


In a large bowl mix well the sugar and the eggs, add the yogurt and the sunflower oil and continue mixing. Grade a lemon pill into the mix, and the yeast and the slowly add the sifted flour. Continue mixing the ingredients until  you have a homogeneous mixture. Cover the baking shape with a bit butter and a spoon of flour, otherwise you cake will be stick to the baking pan. Slowly add the cake mix in the shape and bake in preheated oven (180 degrees) for 35-40 min.


Once the cake is ready (you can check if it is baked with a toothpick – pierce the dough and if the toothpick is dry then your cake is ready) get it out of the oven and once is chilled top up with a icing sugar.
